Over the past two weeks we’ve been looking at the heart of one of history’s most significant men, and clearly one of the most central persons in Scripture, King David.
- We first meet David back in 1 Samuel 16 when God calls Samuel to go and anoint a new king…
- someone, unlike King Saul, who was a man after God’s own heart.
Well, it turns out that this “man after God’s own heart,” as 1 Samuel 13 refers to him, was really just a teenage shepherd named David.
- Even Samuel questions God’s choice of David. And yet, in verse 7 of chapter 16, we’re told that “the Lord does not look at the things people look at. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
