Worship

It is our deep conviction that the very act of worship is our highest calling as believers in Christ. And therefore, as a church, we see worship as our greatest priority. David cried out over and over in song, “God is good and His love endures forever!” Knowing who he was in relation to God’s goodness and love birthed in David a true heart of worship.

The vision of our worship teams at Vineyard Community Church of Morristown is to:

  • Build into the congregation this kind of worshipful heart through their ministry of music.
  • Model and lead the congregation into authentic, intimate praise that stems from a lifestyle of humility, servanthood, and surrender.
  • Create an atmosphere through music that will allow the congregation, both individually and corporately, to freely express their love, devotion, and thanks to Jesus.

God created us for three things, for His pleasure (He enjoys us!), to have intimate fellowship with Him, and to worship Him. Worship deepens our relationship with God, and is the human response to the reality of who God is. It is an opportunity to express our love for God, and a reminder of what He has done for us.

Worship reflects all three of these aspects of why we were created, by giving Him pleasure, having deep fellowship with Him, and by worshipping Him. And so, as we’ve said, worship is the most important thing a believer can do.
